INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Thursday the club had acquired midfielder Cam Lindley via transfer from fellow USL Championship club Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

The Carmel, Indiana native will return to the Boys in Blue for his second stint at the club after earning 2022 USL Championship All-League Second Team honors with the Switchbacks this past season.

“I am so happy to be coming home again to play for this amazing club. I can’t wait to get on the pitch and push this project forward and compete for the championship,” said Lindley. “My wife and I were blessed to be raised in Indy, and I’m elated that we will be able to start a family back in our hometown. A big thank you goes to everyone at the organization who made this possible.”

Lindley led the Championship with 94 chances created and notched nine assists during the past campaign as he earned All-League honors for the first time in his career. Additionally, he recorded an 80 percent pass completion rate and made 205 recoveries and 36 interceptions as the Switchbacks reached the Western Conference Final of the 2022 USL Championship Playoffs presented by Hisense.

“Cam Lindley has developed into one of the Championship’s most complete midfielders since the last time our fans saw him in an Indy uniform,” said Indy Head Coach Mark Lowry. “His creativity, passing ability, leadership, and intensity are traits that translate wherever he lines up in midfield and will be crucial to our style of play being successful. We’re thrilled to have Cam back where he belongs and look forward to announcing more key pieces alongside him for 2023.”

Lindley has 103 appearances in the Championship across the regular season and playoffs in his career, recording three goals, 19 assists and 223 chances created. He previously made 12 appearances for Indy during the abbreviated 2020 season, a campaign in which he posted a career-best 59.4 duel success rate. Over the past two seasons at San Antonio FC and Colorado Springs, Lindley has recorded more than 30 appearances in each campaign, logging 4,990 minutes.
