SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Thursday the club had signed Connor Maloney to a multi-year extension. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Maloney has spent the past three seasons with San Antonio FC and captained the side as it took victory in the 2022 USL Championship Final on November 13 against Louisville City FC. Over the past three seasons, no player has recorded more appearances or minutes played than Maloney in San Antonio’s colors.

“Every club and coach desires a Connor Maloney,” said San Antonio FC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “An incredible human being with a growth mindset, a leader, an all-in commitment to the vision, and an on-field high performer. Connor's expansive skillset and receptiveness to tactical information, and ability to then immediately apply, perform and execute the asked tasks are invaluable traits.”

Maloney has made 75 appearances across the USL Championship’s regular season and playoffs over the past three seasons, starting 74 while seeing 6,642 minutes of action. The Penn State product has recorded eight assists for San Antonio and scored his first goal in the Championship for the club in the club’s Western Conference Final victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on November 6.

The 27-year-old had previously competed for Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer, where he spent three seasons after being selected in the Third Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
