MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Wednesday the club had exercised its one-year team contract to retain midfielder Leston Paul for the 2023 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
“We are delighted to have Leston with us for the 2023 season,” Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “Outside of his outstanding on field season this year, his leadership as club captain is invaluable for us. We look forward to Leston leading our group to success in 2023.”
Paul served as captain in 29 matches for 901 FC during the 2022 season, tallying seven assists with 83 percent passing accuracy rate. The Trinadad and Tobago international has logged more than 6,500 minutes on the pitch for Memphis 901 FC as the lone roster member that has been with the club since its first season in 2019.
