Club’s all-time leader in appearances set to return for fifth season with United

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Friday the club had signed midfielder Daniel Bruce to a new two-year contract ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The 26-year-old joined United before its inaugural 2019 season and is the club’s all-time leader with 97 appearances.

Bruce notched a pair of goals during the 2022 campaign. A native of Warrington, England, Bruce joined New Mexico having been a standout at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, where he recorded 18 goals and 12 assist and was named to the All-Conference USA First Team in 2017 and Second Team in 2018.

In his four years with United, Bruce has recorded seven goals, 10 assists and 60 chances created while logging 4,233 minutes of action across the USL Championship’s regular season and playoffs. In 2021, he was voted the club’s Somos Unidos award winner, while last week he was named the club’s 2022 Humanitarian of the Year.
