EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced on Wednesday the club had signed midfielder Nick Hinds to a new two-year contract ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Hinds joined El Paso ahead of the 2022 season and made 31 appearances in the regular season, starting 14 contests, while scoring two goals in 1,262 minutes of play of action. The 25-year-old joined El Paso having previously played in the Championship on loan with Austin Bold FC from Major League Soccer’s Nashville SC in the 2021 campaign. Hinds made 25 appearances for Austin, recording a goal and an assist while playing primarily as a left back.

A native of Jamaica, Hinds has made 124 regular season appearances in the USL Championship overall in his career, having made his first appearance in the 2015 season as a USL Academy signing for the Tacoma Defiance.

After attending the University of Akron collegiately, Hinds signed professionally with the Defiance prior to the 2018. Across three seasons, he made 60 appearances in the Championship for Tacoma and recorded one goal and six assists before his Homegrown Player rights were acquired by Nashville from Seattle Sounders FC ahead of the 2021 MLS season.
