ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico United announced on Wednesday the club had signed midfielder Harry Swartz to a new two-year contract ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Swartz joined United prior to the 2021 season and this past campaign recorded a career-best six goals – good for third on the team – and notched one assist and 30 chances created, another individual single-season high. The 26-year-old rebounded strongly after making only seven appearances for New Mexico in the 2021 campaign due to injury, and helped send the club to its third postseason appearance in four seasons with the first two-goal game of his career late in the season against the LA Galaxy II, a result that clinched the club’s playoff berth.

A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Swartz previously played for two seasons in the USL Championship for Hartford Athletic after competing collegiately at Northeastern University. Overall, Swartz has made 68 appearances in the league across the regular season and playoffs, recording 11 goals, seven assists and 66 chances created.
