The Lowdown: Memphis 901 FC will aim to build on a positive outing last time out as it plays host to the Charleston Battery, with the hosts having the chance to complete a season sweep in the series after taking victory at Patriots Point in May. Goals by Luiz Fernando and Jeremy Kelly earned 901 FC a 2-0 victory when the sides previously, earning the side its first win in the series after the teams had previously met last in the 2019 campaign. Memphis raced to a 4-0 victory in its last outing, too, as Phillip Goodrum scored the first hat trick of his professional career in a victory against Atlanta United 2 on September 7, a result that moved Memphis into second place in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of both the third-placed Tampa Bay Rowdies and fourth-placed Birmingham Legion FC with six games to go in its regular season. The hosts return to action against a Battery side that defeated the Rowdies last Saturday night – keeping Memphis in second place in the process – as Andrew Booth scored twice to rally Charleston to a 2-1 victory at Patriots Point. While mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, the Battery have now won their last two outings and will be hoping to add to their late-season success as they build toward the 2023 campaign.

Spotlight Players
Memphis 901 FC – Laurent Kissiedou:
The attacking midfielder has recorded five goals and four assists this season but has yet to find the scoresheet since returning from injury in late July. This game could provide the moment to break that dry spell.

Charleston Battery – Augustine Williams: The Battery’s leading goalscorer with 14 goals this season received a recall to the Sierra Leone Men’s National Team this week and will look to depart for international duty on a high note for the visitors.
