The Lowdown: Miami FC takes on the New York Red Bulls II on Friday night with the chance to close within four points of sealing a postseason berth if it completes a season of its hosts at MSU Soccer Park. Miami took a 2-0 victory against the Red Bulls II when the teams met on the opening day of the 2022 Championship season thanks to goals by Joshua Perez and Mark Segbers. The visitors will be looking to continue a current four-game undefeated streak that saw the side play to a 1-1 draw against fellow playoff contender Birmingham Legion FC last Saturday night, with Lamar Walker scoring a first-half goal as the side remained in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. The Red Bulls II, meanwhile, return home looking to rebound from a 3-0 defeat to the Charleston Battery last Saturday night that dropped the side five points adrift at the bottom of the Eastern standings. Already eliminated from postseason contention, New York will try to put in a better performance this time around in its penultimate home game of the season.

Spotlight Players
New York Red Bulls II – Jonathan Filipe:
The 23-year-old bagged a pair of goals in New York’s last home outing, a 3-3 draw with Hartford Athletic, and will look to add to his first professional tallies this time out.

Miami FC – Speedy Williams: The Jamaican international won a USL Championship title with the Red Bulls II in 2016 and scored in one of Miami’s two visits to MSU Soccer Park a season ago.
