Eight players that have competed in the USL Championship or USL League One this season have been named in El Salvador’s provisional squad that will face Peru in an international exhibition at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on September 27, with recent Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC arrival Jairo Henriquez, El Paso Locomotive FC’s Eric Calvillo and Miami FC’s Joaquin Rivas among those selected by Head Coach Hugo Perez.

Henriquez has already made a notable impact for the Switchbacks since his midseason acquisition from Salvadoran club C.D. Aguila, recording three goals and three assists in eight appearances. The 29-year-old has recorded a pair of game-winning goals in the Switchbacks’ current three-game winning streak which has seen the club close in on a second consecutive trip to the USL Championship Playoffs.

Joining Henriquez in La Selecta’s attacking corps is Rivas – who has notched a pair of assists in 12 appearances since joining Miami FC from FC Tulsa in a midseason transfer – and Las Vegas Lights FC winger Roberto Molina, who has notched three goals and five assists in 44 appearances in the Championship and recorded his first assist at the international level in El Salvador’s 2-2 draw with Grenada in Concacaf Nations League A this past June.

Calvillo joins the squad having recorded a career-best five goals in 26 appearances this season for Locomotive FC. He is joined by Loudoun United FC standout Jeremy Garay, who recently notched his first professional goal in the side’s 3-1 victory against Atlanta United 2.

Also selected are FC Tulsa defender Ronald Rodriguez and North Carolina FC’s Nelson Flores, who returns to the squad for the first time since an April call-up for an exhibition against April, while Las Vegas Lights FC loanee Tomas Romero is among the goalkeeping corps for the contest.
