The playoff races in both the Eastern and Western Conferences should take further shape on Wednesday night with four games across the country that feature two of the top three teams in the East, and two in-state matchups out west featuring a Copa Tejas showdown.

Here’s a look ahead to the action.

Atlanta United 2 vs. Memphis 901 FC

Venue: Fifth Third Bank Stadium
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+
538.com Predictor: ATL 18%, MEM 62%, Draw 20%

The Lowdown: Memphis 901 FC will look to get back in the win column and clinch its second consecutive trip to the postseason as it visits an Atlanta United 2 side coming off a morale-boosting victory last time out. Jackson Conway scored both goals for Atlanta in a 2-1 win against FC Tulsa on Saturday night that moved the 20-year-old to 10 goals this season, setting a new single-season club record. The victory broke a run of five consecutive defeats for Atlanta, which suffered a 5-2 defeat against Memphis when the teams met at AutoZone Park in June. Phillip Goodrum scored twice in that contest and remains the side’s leading scorer with 14 goals this season. Memphis is coming off a 1-1 draw on Saturday on the road against Orange County SC, a result that combined with Atlanta’s victory moved 901 FC within one point of sealing its postseason berth. The visitors will be aiming for all three points, however, with a chance to pass the Tampa Bay Rowdies for second place in the Eastern Conference standings after a run of three consecutive games with a victory.

Spotlight Players
Atlanta United 2 – Nicolas Firmino:
The midfielder picked up an assist in Saturday’s victory and will need to put in a strong display to try and put pressure a good Memphis lineup led by Aaron Molloy.

Memphis 901 FC – Phillip Goodrum: The former Atlanta United 2 forward has led the way for 901 FC in attack but has been held without a goal during the club’s three-game winless run, something he’ll be eager to change in a return to familiar territory.

FC Tulsa vs. Louisville City FC

Venue: ONEOK Field
Kickoff: 8:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+
538.com Predictor: TUL 19%, LOU 57%, Draw 23%

The Lowdown: FC Tulsa is facing a must-win game as it plays host to Eastern Conference leader Louisville City FC at ONEOK Field with the playoff chances for the Oklahoma side fading after suffering defeat last time out. Tulsa fell 2-1 to Atlanta United 2 on Saturday night to move nine points out of the playoff positions with six games to go in the season as Dario Suarez’s sixth goal of the season wasn’t enough to earn the visitors a result at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The side returns home to face a LouCity side that took a 4-1 victory at Lynn Family Stadium when the teams first met this season in May as Cameron Lancaster scored a pair of goals with Wilson Harris also on the scoresheet. A similar result would see both Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Birmingham Legion FC clinch their playoff places on Wednesday without kicking a ball as LouCity looks to extend its lead at the top of the Eastern Conference. Coming off a 3-1 win against Sacramento Republic FC this past Saturday that included Harris’ 11th goal of the season and finishes by Sean Totsch and Elijah Wynder, with the latter notching his first goal for LouCity after turning pro from the club’s academy two years ago, the visitors will be eager to complete a season sweep and maintain their momentum.

Spotlight Players
FC Tulsa – Gabriel Torres:
The left back has been a solid two-way performer this season for his side and should face a key potential battle with Louisville’s Manny Perez on the flank.

Louisville City FC – Sean Totsch: The center back has bagged eight goals this season from the penalty spot and set pieces and could prove a threat again while looking to lead LouCity’s back line.

El Paso Locomotive FC vs. Rio Grande Valley FC

Venue: Southwest University Park
Kickoff: 9 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+
538.com Predictor: ELP 37%, RGV 35%, Draw 28%

The Lowdown: El Paso Locomotive FC will try to build on consecutive victories as it plays host to in-state rival Rio Grande Valley FC, which returns to action aiming to boost its own postseason hopes with games in hand on the other teams looking to finish above the playoffs line. The Toros suffered a 2-1 defeat to Phoenix Rising FC last Wednesday night to remain in 12th place in the Western Conference and seven points out of the playoff positions with eight games to play in the regular season. The past weekend’s results, however, have left the Toros a path to quickly move up with a win, with the side potentially set to move into ninth place with a victory in El Paso. That could be a challenge against Locomotive FC, which took its second consecutive victory on Friday night against New Mexico United as Luis Solignac scored a pair of goals at Isotopes Park. Solignac has now scored six goals in the past four games to move to 13 tallies overall this season and will be hoping to find another breakthrough after the teams played to a 0-0 draw at H-E-B Park in June and move closer to a fourth consecutive postseason berth.

Spotlight Players
El Paso Locomotive FC – Eder Borelli:
The Mexican left back has recorded three assists in the past two games and will look for another strong performance in a crucial game to El Paso’s playoff drive.

Rio Grande Valley FC – Jose Francisco Torres: The former United States international will try to pull the strings for the visitors in the center of midfield in what could be an intriguing matchup with fellow veteran Richie Ryan.

Monterey Bay F.C. vs. Orange County SC

Venue: Cardinale Stadium
Kickoff: 10:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+
538.com Predictor: MB 37%, OC 33%, Draw 29%

The Lowdown: Monterey Bay F.C. will try to build on a big victory last time out as it plays host to Orange County SC, which is winless in its last three games and close to mathematical elimination from playoff contention. Monterey Bay took a 3-1 victory against second-placed San Diego Loyal SC on Saturday night at Cardinale Stadium as Sam Gleadle recorded a pair of goals and Christian Volesky notched the 49th regular season goal of his career to keep the side’s playoff chances alive. MBFC is now in 11th place in the Western Conference but only five points out of the playoff positions with eight games to play and would move into ninth place with a victory against OCSC on Wednesday night. Volesky was also on the scoresheet when Monterey Bay took a 2-0 victory against Orange County when the teams met for the first time this season in July at Championship Soccer Stadium, a result the hosts will be looking to emulate this time around, but one the defending Championship title holders cannot afford as they sit in 13th place in the standings. With only seven games remaining, and a nine-point deficit to make up, OCSC will be looking to better its 1-1 draw with Memphis 901 FC this past Saturday that once again saw the side let a lead slip away late after Brian Iloski had given the side a first-half lead. Orange County has now dropped a league-high 21 points from winning positions this season, a key reason as to why the side finds itself scrambling at this point of the campaign.

Spotlight Players
Monterey Bay F.C. – Kai Greene:
The veteran center back has been stellar at the back for the first-year side and will help try to contain Championship leading scorer Milan Iloski as he looks for his 20th goal of the season.

Orange County SC – Erick “Cubo” Torres: The former Mexico international has scored nine goals this season for OCSC but is without a goal in his last five appearances, a run he’ll look to break in a must-win game for the visitors.
