Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will try to move closer to a postseason berth as it heads to a venue where it has had good prior success on Sunday to round out Week 26’s action in the USL Championship, but the visitors could be wary of a Loudoun United FC side coming off a good midweek win.

Here’s a look ahead to the action.

The Lowdown: Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will try to move closer to clinching a place in the USL Championship Playoffs for a fifth consecutive season as it visits a Loudoun United FC side coming off a notable victory last time out. Loudoun took a 1-0 win on Wednesday night at Memphis 901 FC as Jacob Greene scored the only goal in the second half and goalkeeper Luis Zamudio recorded a nine-save shutout at AutoZone Park. The performance marked a single-game high this season for Zamudio, who currently ranks fourth in the Championship with 77 saves this season. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, was held to a 0-0 draw by the Charleston Battery at Highmark Stadium despite outshooting its visitors 16-3. The result left the Hounds two points behind Birmingham Legion FC for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, and with a Magic Number of 8 going into the weekend’s action. Pittsburgh took a 2-0 victory against Loudoun when they first met this season behind a pair of goals by Dane Kelly in April. The Hounds have also won four of their prior five trips to Segra Field overall and will looks to maintain the upper hand in the series.

Spotlight Players
Loudoun United FC – Jalen Robinson:
The experienced center back will get to face off with his former club as he marshals a defensive line that will have to contend with an impressive array of attacking talent.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – Albert Dikwa: Already having a career season, Dikwa will be on the hunt for his 10th goal of the season after coming on as a substitute against Charleston in midweek as Head Coach Bob Lilley rotated his lineup.
