Plaza made two La Liga appearances with Real Vallodolid during his time with the club. He also made 11 appearances for Real Valladolid B, where he scored a goal and collected an assist. The 23-year-old was most recently loaned to Independiente del Valle in the Ecuadorian Serie A. He scored seven goals and tallied four assists over 31 appearances with the club.

Plaza made his debut with the Ecuadorian National Team in October of 2018 at the age of 19. He has also featured for Ecuador’s U-20’s.

“Stiven possesses great physical qualities that will help him thrive in our system,” said Red Bulls II Interim Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya. “We are excited to add him to our group of attacking options.”
