Orange County brings aboard midfielder Kyle Scott

New Orange County SC signing Kyle Scott most recently played for FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer, and is a product of the Chelsea FC Academy.

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Thursday the club had signed midfielder Kyle Scott for the remainder of the 2022 USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, terms and conditions of deal will not be disclosed.

The 24-year-old most recently competed for Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati, where he made four appearances during a season hindered by injuries. A native of England, Scott is a produced of the Chelsea FC Academy and featured for the Blues in the U18, UEFA U19 Youth League and U23 squads.

Scott made his First Team debut for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge during an F.A. Cup match during the 2018 campaign. Shortly after, he moved on a season-long loan to Dutch side Telstar. Scott signed with Newcastle United in 2019 before making the move to FC Cincinnati last year.

Scott has represented three countries in international competitions all at the youth level including his native England as well as the Republic of Ireland. Most recently, Scott competed for the United States U-18 and U-20 national teams.
