Two teams sitting below the playoff line in the Western Conference will square off on ESPN Deportes on Sunday night to wrap up Week 19’s action in the 2022 USL Championship regular season, with Rio Grande Valley FC and Las Vegas Lights set to meet for the first time in three years.

Here’s a look ahead to the action.

Rio Grande Valley FC vs. Las Vegas Lights FC

Venue: H-E-B Park
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN Deportes / ESPN+
538.com Predictor: RGV 59%, LV 16%, Draw 25%

The Lowdown: Rio Grande Valley FC and Las Vegas Lights FC will both be aiming to get back into the win column as they try to boost their postseason chances at H-E-B Park. The Toros are winless in their last three outings but grabbed a point in their most recent outing on July 9 as Jesus Vazquez scored a 90th-minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw at New Mexico United. RGVFC has taken four points from its past two home games, posting shutouts in both contests against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and El Paso Locomotive FC, but is looking for greater consistency overall as it sits five point out of the playoff places at the start of the weekend. Lights FC is one point ahead of the Toros in eighth place in the standings, but it aiming to rebound from a 1-0 defeat on the road against Detroit City FC in its last outing on July 2, a result that ended the club’s three-game winning streak to close June. Las Vegas has been led this season by the attacking duo of Danny Trejo (9 goals, 4 assists) and Cal Jennings (6 goals, 4 assists), and will likely need a strong display by that duo to earn a result against a solid Toros defense.

Spotlight Players
Rio Grande Valley FC – Jose Francisco Torres:
The former United States international has made a solid return from injury will need to help control the midfield for the Toros against a solid Lights FC group.

Las Vegas Lights FC – Danny Trejo: Lights FC has won all seven games in which Trejo has scored this season, making the second-year pro an invaluable asset to the side and a player opponents must try to contain.
