FC Tulsa’s Jorge Corrales ruled out for season after ACL surgery

Cuban international had made eight appearances for club this season, also featured four times for national team

TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa announced on Sunday that defender Jorge Corrales would miss the remainder of the 2022 USL Championship season after undergoing successful surgery this past Friday to repair an ACL injury suffered in the club’s match against the Charleston Battery on June 25. Corrales is expected to be healthy heading into 2023.

The Cuban defender made eight appearances for FC Tulsa in 2022, totaling 481 minutes and created three scoring chances. Defensively, Corrales tallied 12 clearances, nine interceptions, and won 71 percent of his tackles. He ranks sixth in club history with 5,233 minutes logged over his Tulsa career.

Corrales also had strong showing with the Cuban National Team during the first window of Concacaf Nations League play in early June. He played all 360 minutes across Cuba’s four matches, recording one assist and contributing to two clean sheets as Cuba posted a 3-1-0 record to sit on top of League B, Group A with two games remaining next March.
