FC Tulsa will try to rebound from a tough midweek loss as it heads to face Loudoun United FC on Sunday night in the final game of Week 17 in the 2022 USL Championship regular season, with the visitors aiming to keep up with the teams challenging for playoff positions in the Eastern Conference.

Here’s a look ahead to all the action.

Loudoun United FC vs. FC Tulsa

Venue: Segra Field
Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Broadcast: ESPN+

The Lowdown: FC Tulsa and Loudoun United FC will square off for the first time in their respective histories on Sunday night with both sides aiming to respond to setbacks last time out. Loudoun suffered a 3-1 defeat last Saturday night against Orange County SC despite taking an early lead through Skage Simonsen at Championship Soccer Stadium as a missed opportunity from the penalty spot by Sami Guediri early in the second half for the visitors proved pivotal in OCSC’s victory. Loudoun has alternated wins and losses in its last four games overall, winning each of its past two home games against the New York Red Bulls II and Phoenix Rising FC. It will hope to continue that form at Segra Field against a Tulsa side that held a halftime lead against Western Conference leader San Antonio FC this past Tuesday night but was unable to hold on for a result in a 2-1 defeat at Toyota Field. It marked the first time Tulsa had lost a game it led at halftime since the 2019 and continued the side’s 14-game winless streak on the road. Currently led by interim Head Coach Donovan Ricketts, Tulsa will need to break that streak if it’s to keep ground with the sides ahead of it in the Eastern Conference playoff race with the side currently sitting three points behind Indy Eleven and Miami FC, who square off on Saturday night in another of the weekend’s key games.

Spotlight Players
Loudoun United FC – Michael Gamble:
The veteran midfielder has been a key to Loudoun’s positive displays at home in recent weeks and could look to add to his assist against Phoenix in the club’s last outing at Segra Field.

FC Tulsa – JJ Williams: The powerful forward has scored three goals in the past two games to move to eight tallies this season having previously been held off the scoreboard since May 5. Maintaining that streak may be essential to Tulsa breaking its run of poor road form.
