Orange County SC loan acquisition Ian Hoffmann has previously been called up to the United States U-20 National Team, and has made six appearances for Houston Dynamo FC in Major League Soccer.
IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Thursday the club had acquired midfielder Ian Hoffmann on loan from Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo FC for the remainder of the USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval.
Hoffmann appeared in six matches for Houston during the 2021 season. The Wilton, Conn. native has so far spent the 2022 season competing for Houston Dynamo 2 in MLS Next Pro, with the former United States U-20 international having also previously played on loan in the USL Championship for Rio Grande Valley FC during the shortened 2020 season.
The 20-year-old joined the Dynamo after spending his pre-professional days in Germany within 2. Bundesliga side Karlsruher SC’s academy system. He previously competed for Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln and MLS side the New York Red Bulls in the academy ranks.
In international competition, Hoffmann was called up to the U.S. Men’s National Team at the U16, U18 and U20 levels. He also represented Germany at the U17 and U18 levels.
