Orange County signs defender Hassan Ndam

Former Red Bulls II standout joins defending title holder on 25-day contract

IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Friday the club had signed defender Hassan Ndam to a 25-day contract ahead of its contest against Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday night at Cashman Field.

The 23-year-old Cameroonian center back most recently played for fellow USL Championship club Miami FC on loan from Major League Soccer’s FC Cincinnati during the 2020 season. Ndam made 14 appearances for Miami during the abbreviated campaign, recording 42 clearances and 24 interceptions while winning 42 of 61 aerial duels and 69 of 113 duels.

Ndam had previously featured in the Championship for the New York Red Bulls II, where he made 58 appearances over two seasons in 2017 and 2018, helping the side to success in both the regular season and the playoffs. For his career, Ndam has made 77 regular-season appearances in the Championship and has logged 6,427 minutes of action while posting an aerial duel success rate of 62.8 percent and a duel success rate of 58.3 percent.
