SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Thursday it had acquired forward Samuel Adeniran on loan from Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders FC for the remainder of the 2022 season, pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, terms of the loan were not disclosed.

“We are delighted to welcome Samuel to the team and would like to thank Seattle for accommodating the loan,” said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “Samuel is a goal scorer with the skill set to effectively run at players to create for himself and his teammates. Through his young career, he has demonstrated the commitment to engage in aggressive pressing actions, an essential component of our game model.”

A native of Houston, Texas, Adeniran has made four appearances for the Sounders in Major League Soccer, while also competing for the Tacoma Defiance in both the USL Championship and MLS NEXT Pro. The 23-year-old has recorded 13 goals in 30 appearances in the Championship in his career as he set a Defiance record for single-season goals in the 2021 season.

Since starting his professional career in 2018, Adeniran has played in Spain and Germany before coming to the United States.
