Orange County SC’s Korede Osundina scored a first-half goal while Louisville City FC’s Joshua Wynder wore the captain’s armband as the United States U-19s claimed a 2-1 victory against England in the first of two exhibition contests in Marbella, Spain on Monday evening.

Osundina scored a second-half goal for the United States to level the score after England had taken a first-half lead. The U.S. got what proved to be the winner with nine minutes to go as Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Neri – a native of Miami, Florida – found the net.

Wynder and Osundina were the two Championship players in the squad to make the start for the side, while Orange County’s Kobi Henry came on as a substitute, opening the move that led to Neri’s winner.

The side will face Norway on Thursday in its final game of the trip.
