Five players lit up the past month of the 2022 season, which gets your vote?

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award Presented by Konami eFootball for May, honoring five of the top performers throughout the past month of the 2022 season as they take their place on the ballot.

Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, June 6 at 12 p.m. ET.

  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.

  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, June 9.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL Championship Player of the Month – May 2022

Jeremy Kelly, Memphis 901 FC – Kelly recorded three goals and three assists in four games as Memphis took four consecutive victories, recording eight chances created and a +1.53 Goals Added mark over the course of the month.

Milan Iloski, Orange County SC – Iloski recorded four goals and one assist across four appearances, averaging a goal every 75 minutes, while posting a 71.4 percent shooting accuracy rate and 50 percent shot conversion rate as his side went undefeated during the month.

Luis Solignac, El Paso Locomotive FC – Solignac notched four goals and one assist in six appearances, averaging a goal every 119.25 minutes while also recording eight chances created and a shooting accuracy rate of 69.2 percent while recording a +1.56 Goals Added mark.

Antoine Hoppenot, Detroit City FC – Hoppenot recorded two goals and three assists in three league outings and finished the month with 11 chances created – third-most in the league in the month – and a 1.45 Goals Added mark over the month.

Ottar Magnus Karlsson, Oakland Roots SC – Karlsson scored four goals in four appearances for Roots SC, finding the net in each game for the side, while posting six shots on target for a 66.7 percent shooting accuracy rate.
