The Lowdown: San Diego Loyal SC will try to break a three-game winless streak as it heads to face the New York Red Bulls II for the first time as it tries to close the gap to the frontrunners in the Western Conference. SD Loyal played to a 2-2 draw this past Saturday in its most recent outing against the LA Galaxy II as it conceded twice in second-half stoppage time to led victory slip away. The contest marked the third in succession in which San Diego had dropped points on the road after holding the lead with 15 minutes remaining, having seen New Mexico United score in second-half stoppage time for a 1-1 draw on May 7 before Rio Grande Valley FC rallied for a 2-1 win in Texas on May 21. SD Loyal has now conceded the most goals of any side in the final 15+ minutes of games this season, with 12 of its 21 goals against having come in the 76th minute or later. The visitors took victory when they last visited the Eastern time zone, however, taking a 3-2 victory against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on April 30 in their lone road win of the season so far, and will be hoping to replicate that result against a Red Bulls II side that has yet to win on home turf this season. New York fell 2-1 to Birmingham Legion FC last Friday night at MSU Soccer Park despite Jordan Adebayo-Smith recording his third goal of the season and has lost five in a row overall since a 1-1 draw against Tampa Bay on April 23 in its last positive result.

Spotlight Players
New York Red Bulls II – O’Vonte Mullings:
The first-year professional has notched three assists this season and had a good outing against Birmingham, completing 33 of 36 passes. He will be key against a strong SD Loyal midfield unit.

San Diego Loyal SC – Grant Stoneman: The center back recently passed 50 appearances in SD Loyal colors and has recorded 34 clearances and 14 interceptions this season, but needs to help the side close out games more solidly.
