Watch the online panel from the USL’s Impact Series focused on the importance of inclusion

This past month, the United Soccer League convened online for the latest seminar in the USL Impact Series, featuring a discussion centered on the importance of inclusion at clubs across the USL ecosystem leading up to LGBTQ+ Pride Month in June.

The esteemed panel led by Moderator Josie Nixon, Account Manager at the You Can Play Project and guests Billy Bean, the Senior Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Special Assistant to the Commissioner at Major League Baseball, and Lindsay Barenz, President of USL Championship club Oakland Roots SC, discussed the importance of fostering LGBTQ+ inclusivity at all levels of organizations, creating steps clubs can take to make people feel more included, identifying benchmarks to monitor progress, and implementing initiatives to be an ally within the community.

The USL Impact Series is a content series designed to drive conversation around impactful community engagement initiatives across the USL ecosystem to empower clubs to implement authentic and intentional social impact within their respective communities.
