IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Tuesday the club had signed midfielder Iván Gutiérrez to a 25-day contract, pending league and federation approval. Gutierrez will be available for selection in Orange County’s contest against Oakland Roots SC on Wednesday night at Laney Stadium (10 p.m. ET | ESPN+).
A native of Norwalk, Calif. Gutierrez most recently played for fellow USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC, where he made nine appearances during the 2021 campaign. Prior to that, Gutiérrez played for the LA Galaxy II where he recorded two goals and five assists across two seasons.
Gutiérrez joined Los Dos from Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara where he featured for the reserve and U-20 squads. In his pre-professional seasons, Gutiérrez was part of the Chivas USA Academy system. The 24-year-old has also previously competed at the youth international level for Mexico for El Tri’s U-17 Men’s National Team.
