New Mexico United forward Neco Brett has been named in the Jamaica Men’s National Team squad that will face Catalonia in an international exhibition on May 25 at the Estadi Montilivi in Girona, Spain.

Brett’s call-up is his first to the senior national team, with the 30-year-old having previously played at the U-20 level for his country at the 2011 Concacaf U-20 Championship. This season he has recorded four goals for New Mexico, leading the side and sitting tied for 11th in the league.

Now in his seventh season in the Championship, Brett is currently tied for fifth place all-time in league history with 66 regular season goals as well as having recorded 20 assists in 155 appearances. He has twice been voted to the USL Championship All-League Team in 2019 and 2021 and has averaged a goal every 167.8 minutes during the league’s regular season.

Brett is joined in the squad by former USL Championship Golden Boot winner Junior Flemmings, who this month was part of the Toulouse FC squad that claimed the Ligue 2 title in France following his transfer this past January from Birmingham Legion FC.

The Reggae Boyz will play four further games during June’s international window, starting with a pair of contests against Suriname in the Concacaf Nations League A on June 4 and 7 before an international exhibition against Uruguay on June 11 and a final Nations League contest against Mexico on June 14.
