TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award Presented by Konami eFootball, honoring five of the top performers throughout the second month of the 2022 season as they take their place on the ballot.
Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, May 12.
Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.
Jordan Farr, San Antonio FC – The SAFC goalkeeper recorded four shutouts in five games, posting a 0.4 goals-against average while recording a league-high 18 saves across the month for a save percentage of 90 percent.
Dane Kelly, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC – The USL Championship’s all-time leading scorer recorded five goals in five appearances for the Hounds, averaging a goal every 53.6 minutes, as he recorded 13 shots, a 66.7 percent accuracy rate, and a 38.5 percent shot conversion rate.
Kyle Vassell, San Diego Loyal SC – The English forward recorded four goals and one assist for SD Loyal, averaging a goal every 82.8 minutes on 12 overall shots with a 54.6 percent accuracy rate and a 33.3 percent shot conversion rate.
Stefano Pinho, Indy Eleven – The Brazilian forward recorded three goals and two assists in five appearances for the Boys in Blue, posting a league-best +3.33 goals added mark over the month as he notched 18 shots and four key passes over the month.
JJ Williams, FC Tulsa – A new arrival this offseason, Williams recorded four goals in four games for Tulsa on 18 shots while also recording five key passes, notching a shot conversion rate of 22.2 percent and posting a +1.73 goals added mark for the month.
