Birmingham Legion FC and Detroit City FC announced on Wednesday a trade that will send Senegalese forward Macky Diop to DCFC. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed by the clubs.
Diop had made seven league appearances so far this season for Legion FC and scored his first goal for the club this past Sunday in its 2-1 victory against Loudoun United FC. The 26-year-old had previously played two seasons in the USL Championship for Atlanta United 2 where he recorded nine goals and two assists in 32 appearances.
“We would like to thank Macky for his efforts in his time with us here in Birmingham,” said Jay Heaps, Legion FC President and General Manager. “This deal affords us added flexibility to continue building and improving our roster moving forward.”
