Tune in to hear from the Greenville Triumph SC and Charleston Battery Head Coaches on their USMNT experiences

Going into Wednesday night, the United States Men’s National Team is on the verge of qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November, with Gregg Berhalter’s squad featuring a large collection of USL Championship, League One and League Two alumni as it rounds out qualifying against Costa Rica (9 p.m. ET | CBS Sports Network).

Two people who have experienced the pressure and excitement of representing the USMNT in their careers are current Greenville Triumph SC Head Coach John Harkes and Charleston Battery Head Coach Conor Casey, who’ll join the USL’s Maury Urcadez live on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET to talk about the current squad and their experiences competing on the biggest stages in world soccer.

Inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2005, Harkes competed for the United States at both the 1990 and 1994 World Cups and made 90 appearances over his illustrious career. More recently in Greenville, he has led Triumph SC to three consecutive appearances in the USL League One Final, with the club having claimed the title in the 2020 season.

Currently in his first full-time Head Coaching position in the professional ranks, Casey made 19 appearances for the United States and competed at both the 2000 Olympic Games and 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. Casey’s two-goal performance against Honduras in 2009 helped the United States clinch its berth at the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a 3-2 victory in San Pedro Sula in the penultimate game of the final stage.
