Milan Iloski notches goal for visitors in stoppage time to earn 1-1 draw before 10,676 at Isotopes Park

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Milan Iloski scored a stoppage-time equalizer as Orange County SC earned a 1-1 draw against New Mexico United on Saturday afternoon before a crowd of 10,676 at Isotopes Park after the hosts had taken the lead late in the contest through Harry Swartz.

Both sides had good long-range efforts inside the opening half-hour, with New Mexico’s Neco Brett forcing an excellent save from OCSC goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky in the 17th minute with a shot to the top-left corner that was palmed aside. Orange County’s Cubo Torres then went close on the half-hour mark as he created space on the turn 25 yards from goal centrally and shot just high and wide of the top-right corner. Milan Iloski also had a good effort from distance for the visitors that forced a save from New Mexico’s Alex Tambakis three minutes before the break, but the game went to halftime scoreless.

New Mexico threatened again in the 62nd minute when Brett found Daniel Bruce as he arrived in the right side of the penalty area only for Rakovsky to tip his finish the top-right corner over the net. Bruce had a role to play as United took the lead with 12 minutes to go, however, as he gained possession in space on the right and delivered a back-post cross that found Swartz for a diving header that found the net.

Orange County had a chance to level as the game entered stoppage time as Torres flicked a header on target after a cross from the right by Oluwakorede Osundina that was parried wide by New Mexico’s Alex Tambakis. From the ensuing corner kick, the equalizer arrived as Torres headed Daniel Pedersen’s back-post corner kick from the left into the six-yard area where Iloski was on hand to head home from close range to earn the visitors a point.
