Miami FC’s Speedy Williams and Lamar Walker have been named in Jamaica’s squad for the country’s final three games of FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifying in March, which open on Thursday night at home to El Salvador in Kingston. The pair are among six current Championship players selected for World Cup Qualifying in the March international window.

A three-time USL Championship title winner, Williams has started and played the full 90 minutes of each of Miami’s opening two games of the 2022 season, completing 62 of 78 passes (79.5 percent) and recording five interceptions and two tackles so far this season. The 29-year-old has previously made 29 appearances for Jamaica and has appeared in every game of the final stage of Concacaf World Cup Qualifying so far this cycle.

Walker has made one appearance for Miami so far this season but is coming off a first campaign in the Championship that saw him record six goals in 24 appearances for the club in 2021. The 21-year-old has made 14 appearances for his country, including appearing in all three of Jamaica’s games in its most recent group of World Cup Qualifying games in late January and February, where he was the youngest member of the squad.

Jamaica will face El Salvador on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m ET at Jamaica’s National Stadium before going north to face Canada on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. ET. The side will then return home to host Honduras at 9:05 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 30, with all games set to air live on Paramount Plus.
