Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC forward Kharlton Belmar is among a group of four players from the USL Championship that will be part of a historic trip for the Grenada Men’s National Team as the side competes for the first time outside the Concacaf region in a pair of international exhibitions next week.

The Spice Boys are set to visit Gibraltar on March 23, and then Andorra on March 28 over the upcoming international window as they prepare for the opening of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League this summer.

Belmar will be joined on the squad by three newcomers to the Championship this season in Indy Eleven’s Alex McQueen, El Paso Locomotive FC’s Shavon John-Brown and the Charleston Battery’s Benji Ettienne. Both McQueen and John-Brown made their Championship debuts during the opening weekend of the 2022 season.

An offseason arrival for the Switchbacks, Belmar has made 182 appearances in the Championship’s regular season and playoffs in his career, recording 45 goals and 23 assists in 12,678 minutes of action. A native of Virginia Beach, Va., of Grenadian descent, Belmar made his debut for the country last March in FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifying and has made four appearances overall at the international level.
