MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Friday the club had acquired goalkeeper Trey Muse on loan from fellow USL Championship clubs Loudoun United FC, and the signing of defender Lucas Turci. Both transactions are pending league and federation approval.

Muse joins 901 FC having previously signed with Loudoun United earlier this offseason. A former Homegrown signing of Seattle Sounders FC, the Louisville, Kentucky native made 15 appearances in the Championship a season ago on loan with San Diego Loyal SC.

“I’m very excited to be joining this team and group of guys and to work on and off the field to represent the Bluff City and Memphis 901 to the best of my ability,” said Muse.

Muse had previously been a member of the U.S. U18 Men’s National Team in 2017 and U20 side from 2018-2019. Muse played collegiately at Indiana University, earning Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors during his freshman season and Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year as a sophomore.

“Trey is a very experienced goalkeeper in both MLS and USL Championship,” said 901 FC Head Coach Ben Pirmann said. “His professionalism and calmness will be major assets for our team as we kick off the 2022 season.

“Trey has good reflexes and technical ability as well as good size, strength and ability to command his area. He is also good with his feet and has a top range of pass. We are very excited for him to join us here in Memphis.”

Turci joins Memphis with three seasons of action in German under his belt, most recently making 11 appearances with FSV Union Fürstenwalde of Regionalliga Nordorst in 2021 where he recorded one goal and one assist. The Brazilian defender started his professional career with TSV Grunbach of Landespokal Baden in 2018.

“Lucas has come through the Sao Paulo and Corinthians youth academy and progressed his way to First Team football in Brazil and in Germany,” said Memphis Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Sewell. “We believe Lucas gives us a different look to our team and we look forward to seeing him perform during the season.”
