SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Wednesday the club had acquired defender Jordan Ayimbila on loan from Accra Lions FC of the Ghana Premier League for the 2022 USL Championship season. Per team policy, terms of the loan were not disclosed, and the transaction is pending league and federation approval.

“We are pleased to add Jordan on loan from Accra Lions. He has just arrived in the country, and we are keen to get him acclimated to our team identity,” said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “Jordan is a young versatile left-sided defender with exceptional athleticism, effective in one versus one dual, with tremendous growth potential.”

Originally from Ghana, the 21-year-old joins SAFC after spending the 2021 season with Malaysian club Selangor FC. Ayimbila appeared in 24 matches overall at the club, including 17 appearances in the Malaysian Premier League that saw him record one assist and log 1,516 minutes of action after being promoted to the club’s First Team after competing initially for Selangor 2.
