IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Wednesday the club had signed defender Hunter Gorskie and goalkeeper Colin Shutler ahead of the 2022 USL Championship season. The signings are pending league and federation approval.

Gorskie is an experienced defender and has played professionally across four different countries. During 2021, Gorskie played north of the border with FC Edmonton in the Canadian Premier League where he made 26 appearances.

Hailing from Marlboro Township, NJ, Gorskie played his collegiate soccer in California with the Stanford Cardinal. He broke into the professional ranks with the New York Cosmos in 2013 and won two Soccer Bowls in three seasons with the club. Gorskie then joined Polish side Miedz Legnica for two seasons before returning to the United States with the USL Championship’s Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2017. More recently, Gorskie also competed in the Championship for both Loudoun United FC and San Antonio FC, helping the latter reach the USL Championship Playoffs in the 2020 season.

Shutler made 10 appearances last season in USL League One for North Texas SC after being selected with the 48th pick of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas. The Middleburg, Virginia native had previously played four seasons at the University of Virginia, where he was named as a United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team selection and to an All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team selection in his senior season in 2019.
