Bethesda SC product joins professional ranks after impressing while training with club in 2021

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced on Thursday the club had signed 18-year-old defender Isaiah Foster. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

“I am excited to be joining the Switchbacks and to begin my professional career with this organization,” said Foster. “I am looking forward to becoming a contributing member that helps the team achieve success this season.”

Foster comes to the Switchbacks having previously been a trialist at the club during the 2021 USL Championship season. Formerly of Bethesda SC, he played in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy and additional competitions for the club 2012. In 2016 he was selected for the National Identification and Development Program's ALL id2 team, where he was ranked among the top 11 in the camp by Top Drawer Soccer. He has been on two title-winning teams - once at the Dallas SuperCopa and once at the Dallas Cup, and in 2018 participated in the Madrid Youth Cup and the MIC Cup, where the side reached the Quarterfinals.

“Isaiah trialed with us last year and we were encouraged by his size and skill set at his age,” said Switchbacks General Manager and Head Coach Brendan Burke. “He trained with us for over a week and didn’t have one bad day during the period. We are excited to see how he develops in our environment this year.”
