ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Wednesday it had signed forward Tabort Etaka Preston ahead of the 2022 USL Championship season. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

A former Cameroonian U-20 international, Tabort Etaka has made 59 regular season appearances in the Championship over the past three seasons, recording 12 goals and eight assists while notching 54 chances created.

“Preston has an eagerness to be a constant threat on the attacking side of the ball,” said New Mexico United Head Coach and Technical Director Zach Prince. “His ability to change pace and run at defenders adds another dimension to our attack.”

This past season in Hartford, Tabort Etaka recorded four goals and five assists while completing 47 dribbles. Prior to making the move to Las Vegas for the 2019 season, he competed in both Albania and the Czech Republic.
