ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rowdies and Orange County SC will square off in the 2021 USL Championship Final on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET at Al Lang Stadium (ESPN | ESPN Deportes | SiriusXM FC) with both clubs taking aim at their first league title in the Championship.
Having earned the best record in the Championship this season, the Rowdies’ core has formed a strong, balanced unit that has seen six players record at least 31 starts in 35 games across the regular season and playoffs and 11 players record at least 29 appearances as either starter of substitute. Led by leading scorer and captain Sebastian Guenzatti and a back line featuring Championship Goalkeeper of the Year Evan Louro and Defender of the Year Forrest Lasso, Tampa Bay has produced the best season of its modern era this year.
Orange County’s squad and lineup has also been consistent for much of the season, with seven of the club’s players having appeared in at least 30 out of 35 games across the regular season and playoffs, including veteran defender Michael Orozco – who made 29 appearances for the United States Men’s National Team and more than 250 appearances in LigaMX – and young standout forward Ronaldo Damus. One of the league’s original clubs in 2011, Orange County is making its first Championship Final appearance and will be aiming to become the second road team to take victory in the game’s history.
Here's a look at potential lineups for both sides in Sunday’s game as we reach the final match of the season.
