ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Thursday midfielder Daniel Bruce would return to the squad for the 2022 USL Championship season.

A native of Warrington, England, Bruce has been part of New Mexico’s squad since turning pro with the club for its inaugural 2019 season. The 25-year-old has recorded 59 regular season appearances for United in his career and this past season posted career-highs with 30 appearances, three goals, four assists and 17 key passes.

Bruce was awarded the club’s 2021 Somos Unidos award, the club’s annual recognition of the player who most embodied the spirit and ethos of New Mexico United.

“The Somos Unidos Awards means a lot to me because it’s the standard that we aspire to set here every day,” said Bruce on receiving the award. “Helping, and wanting to be open and available to people. It’s an attitude is learnt when you become a player here, and hopefully will be something that no matter who comes into this club and is a part of this team, that they took will represent this ethos and learn from those around.

“Can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the club and in the fanbase for all the things they do for us as players. Let’s keep pushing forward and go win something next year. Somos Unidos!”
