TAMPA, Fla. – The Charleston Battery’s Joe Kuzminsky has earned the USL Championship’s Fans’ Choice Save of the Month award for October, earning the goalkeeper his second consecutive monthly award for a stellar reflex save against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium last month which finished first in the poll conducted over the past weekend.
Kuzminsky finished in the Top 10 in the league in saves this season with 77 stops while recording four shutouts in 27 appearances across the campaign. The 27-year-old wrapped up his fifth season with the Battery with another exceptional stop in the club’s visit to face the Rowdies on October 7 which saw him produced a one-handed save to deny a header by Aaron Guillen from the top of the six-yard area.
Kuzminsky’s save earned 61 percent of the poll conducted at USLChampionship.com. Indy Eleven’s Jordan Farr took second place for his one-handed stop against Louisville City FC’s Jorge Gonzalez on October 13, while Phoenix Rising FC’s Andre Rawls took third on 11 percent for an outstanding double-save to deny Orange County SC’s Dillon Powers and Michael Orozco on October 2.
