Penalty denials, big diving stops highlighted the penultimate week of the season, which gets your vote?

The penultimate weekend of the 2021 USL Championship regular season produced some more outstanding goalkeeping display, and three players have earned second consecutive nominations for their outstanding denials in the past week. Here are five of the best stops we’ve picked out for this week’s Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week award, now you get to choose which of them will take the honor.

Voting runs through Friday, October 29 at 12 p.m. ET.

USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week – Week 27

AJ Marcucci (NY) - #NYvLDN, 10/20/21: AJ Marcucci recorded a three-save shutout in the Red Bulls II’s 3-0 win against Loudoun United FC including a key first-half penalty kick save that kept the hosts ahead at MSU Soccer Park on Ted Ku-DiPietro.

Jeff Caldwell (HFD) - #HFDvCLT, 10/22/21: Second in the league in saves this season, Jeff Caldwell recorded another outstanding diving save to deny the Charlotte Independence’s Marcelo Palomino, whose curling shot was pegged for the top-right corner of the net.

Jeff Dewsnup (SLC) - #SLCvCOS, 10/22/21: The 17-year-old earned Championship Team of the Week honors for his nine-save performance against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, which included an outstanding denial of a penalty kick by Golden Boot leader Hadji Barry.

Jordan Farr (IND) - #INDvTUL, 10/23/21: Jordan Farr joined Marcucci and Caldwell in earning nomination for a second consecutive week with a brilliant reflex save to keep out a close-range header by FC Tulsa’s Bradley Bourgeois at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

Jermaine Fordah (LDN) - #LDNvTBR, 10/23/21: The English shot-stopper produced a trio of remarkable saves in quick succession, first keeping out a sharp effort by the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Sebastian Guenzatti before denying a deflected shot by Lewis Hilton before finishing with a sprawling effort to keep out Steevan Dos Santos late in the game.
