TACOMA, Wash. – Tacoma Defiance play host to the LA Galaxy II on Sunday afternoon at Cheney Stadium in a game the Defiance must win to remain alive in the race for the postseason against a Los Dos side that can assure its place in the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs with a victory. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.

@TacDefiance (9-13-8, 35pts) played to a 0-0 draw against Oakland Roots SC on Wednesday night in a result that left both teams trailing the fourth-placed Galaxy II by four points with two games remaining in the regular season. Tacoma had chances to find a winner in the second half but weren’t sharp in their finishing as the hosts recorded only one shot on goal out of the eight total shots they had on the night. The Defiance have been strong overall on home turf this campaign with seven of their nine wins coming at Cheney Stadium going into Sunday’s regular season home finale with forward Samuel Adeniran leading the team with 10 goals and attacking midfielder having notched six assists. The hosts will need that production to return as it faces a Galaxy II side that it has yet to lose to this campaign, having taken a 2-0 victory on a pair of goals by Serrano when the teams last met at Cheney Stadium on June 27 and a pair of draws on the road.

The @LAGalaxyII (11-13-6, 39pts) head back to the west coast after falling 3-1 to the Charleston Battery at Patriots Point in an interconference matchup on Wednesday night. Despite the result, the draw between Tacoma and Oakland increased the likelihood the Galaxy II will advance to the postseason as with a win they would ensure their third consecutive playoff berth and the sixth in eight seasons for the club overall. Los Dos rallied to level in the second half against Charleston as Daniel Aguirre found the net with 18 minutes to go but immediately conceded again before a key moment that saw both Preston Judd and Jonathan Perez denied by goal line clearance by the Battery’s Logan Gdula kept the hosts ahead and on their way to victory. Judd leads Los Dos this season with 15 goals while Jorge Hernandez has scored 12 times as well, and the duo will be hoping to find success on their return to the Pacific Northwest to lead their side to a successful performance.
