IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC plays host to Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday night at Championship Soccer Stadium with a chance to move into second place in the USL Championship’s Pacific Division as it takes on a Las Vegas Lights FC side that is looking to end its season on a positive run with two games remaining. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.

@OrangeCountySC (13-10-7, 46pts) clinched its place in the postseason on Wednesday night with a 1-0 victory against San Diego Loyal SC as a first-half goal by Eric Calvillo proved enough to earn the result at Championship Soccer Stadium. The result was Orange County’s third consecutive 1-0 win and moved the side within a point of San Diego for second place in the standings with two games remaining for each side. Orange County’s Patrick Rakovsky recorded the shutout for a third consecutive game and now has eight shutouts this season, tied for fourth in the Championship, while the side continues to be led in attack by Haitian international Ronaldo Damus with 13 goals and six assists by Brent Richards. With a win on Saturday, Orange County would move into second place in the Pacific Division and put pressure on San Diego Loyal SC to match its result on Sunday afternoon against Oakland Roots SC, leaving the chance that OCSC could host a playoff game for the first time since the 2018 season at the end of the season.

@LVLightsFC (6-21-2, 21pts) enters having played to a 6-3 defeat last Saturday afternoon against Phoenix Rising FC at Cashman Field. Cal Jennings recorded a hat trick for the hosts but came out on the losing side, becoming the sixth player in the Championship’s history to so do after bagging three goals in a game in the league’s history and the second this season after the LA Galaxy II’s Preston Judd recorded a hat trick in a 4-3 loss to Lights FC on June 16. Las Vegas has now conceded the most goals in the Championship this season with 73 while goalkeeper Alex Rando is currently on 115 saves for the season, tied for the fourth-most in single season in league history. Las Vegas has found success this season against Orange County, however, with one of its six wins this season against OCSC in a 3-1 result at Cashman Field on July 27. The most recent encounter went Orange County’s way, however, with the hosts taking a 3-0 win at Championship Soccer Stadium on September 11.
