LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A pair of playoff-bound squads will meet on Saturday night as Louisville City FC plays host to Memphis 901 FC at Lynn Family Stadium with the hosts looking to rebound from consecutive defeats as they try to stay in contention for first place in the Central Division against a 901 FC side coming off a big victory last time out. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

@LouCityFC (16-7-7, 55pts) suffered a 1-0 defeat to rival Indy Eleven last Saturday night at Michael A. Carroll Stadium as a fine goalkeeping performance by Indy’s Jordan Farr kept the visitors off the scoresheet. The result was the second consecutive loss for LouCity, but the side remained in contention for first place in the Central Division after current first-placed side Birmingham Legion FC was held to a draw on Sunday night by OKC Energy FC. Louisville can move back into first place on Saturday night with a victory against Memphis as it closes out its home regular season slate, with Legion FC back in action on Sunday night, but as importantly a win would ensure LouCity can pass Birmingham when the two sides meet on the final day of the regular season at BBVA Field.

@Memphis901FC (12-9-8, 44pts) booked its place in the postseason last weekend as a 4-2 victory against Atlanta United 2 was followed by the draw between OKC and Birmingham to move Memphis clear of Energy FC in fifth place in the standings. Kyle Murphy notched his 18th goal of the season as one of four players to find the net and is now sitting third in the Championship’s Golden Boot race. Memphis enters Saturday’s game having gone 1-1-1 against LouCity this season, including a 2-1 victory when the sides last met on October 13 at AutoZone Park that saw Mark Segbers score the winner in 901 FC’s first victory in its history against Louisville. Segbers will be unavailable for selection on Saturday as he serves a one-game suspension for caution accumulation, but the visitors will be hopeful of taking a result from the contest ahead of a key game next Wednesday night at home to fourth-placed FC Tulsa as the two sides battle for seeding in the playoffs.
