LEESBURG, Va. – Loudoun United FC plays host to the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday night at Segra Field as the visitors try to take another step toward ending the season with the best record in the USL Championship against a Loudoun side that is coming off a tough midweek defeat. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

@LoudounUnitedFC (4-22-3, 15pts) fell 3-0 to the New York Red Bulls II on Wednesday night as Ted Ku-DiPietro had a penalty kick saved in the first half that stifled the side’s momentum after going behind early on. Loudoun is now on a three-game losing streak since a 3-2 victory against Miami FC on October 10 as it winds its season to a close, but that contest and other home victories this season against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and Indy Eleven have shown the danger the side can post opponents when they visit Segra Field. This is the penultimate home game of the season for United, which has lost its three prior meetings with the Rowdies this season, including a 2-0 setback on August 23 at Segra Field when the teams last met as Lewis Hilton had a goal and assist to lead the visitors to victory.

The @TampaBayRowdies (21-7-2, 65pts) are looking to build on a 3-0 victory against Miami FC in their home finale on Wednesday night that saw Sebastian Guenzatti record two goals and one assist to continue his remarkable recent run of form. The victory clinched the best record in the Eastern Conference for the Rowdies, who can also claim the best record in the league should they close out their final two games of the season against Loudoun and Las Vegas Lights FC on October 30 with two victories. Guenzatti has now scored 57 goals for Tampa Bay across all competitions, including 50 in the Championship regular season and playoffs since the start of the 2019 season, to move within three goals of the club’s all-time record of 60 goals held by Georgi Hristov, who was a teammate of Guenzatti in the 2017 and 2018 campaigns. The side has also seen key contributions in attack from Leo Fernandes with six goals and five assists, while Steevan Dos Santos notched his seventh goal of the season against Miami to wrap up the victory.
