ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Rowdies play host to Miami FC at Al Lang Stadium on Wednesday night at Al Lang Stadium in the final meeting between the Florida rivals this regular season with the hosts in need of a victory to remain ahead of Phoenix Rising FC for the best record in the league and Miami looking for three points to keep its chances of a second-place finish alive. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The @TampaBayRowdies (20-7-2, 62pts) were held to a 1-1 draw by the New York Red Bulls II on Friday night at Al Lang Stadium to peg back the Atlantic Division leaders into a virtual tie for the best record in the Championship. An own goal forced by a good piece of play by Leo Fernandes and Sebastian Dalgaard proved the only goal of the night as Rowdies leading scorer Sebastian Guenzatti was denied his 20th goal of the season and held without a tally for the first time in five games. The Rowdies maintain control over the race for homefield advantage in the playoffs thanks to its victory against Rising FC early in the campaign but needs to win out with Phoenix currently on 65 points with two games remaining. Earning victory against Miami would be the biggest step in that process as the side looks to tie the Championship’s record for home wins in a regular season of 13 in its home finale.

@TheMiamiFC (14-8-7, 49pts) clinched its place in the postseason on Saturday night after a 0-0 draw with Pittsburgh Riverhounds at FIU Stadium that saw the visitors have a goal chalked off incorrectly that could have tilted the game in the Hounds favor. Miami was held scoreless for the first time in four games in the contest and now sits in fourth place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind Pittsburgh, which has two games remaining, and the second-placed Charlotte Independence, who also have three games left to play. Miami has taken a pair of victories against the Rowdies this season to hold the edge in the season series so far, but both came on home turf at FIU Stadium with Tampa Bay having defeated Miami 2-1 earlier this season at Al Lang Stadium for its second consecutive home win against its rival. The visitors will be without defender Callum Chapman-Page on Wednesday as he serves a one-game suspension for caution accumulation.
