MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC plays host to Atlanta United 2 on Saturday night at AutoZone Park with a chance to complete a six-point week and close that much closer to a place in the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs against an Atlanta side that is coming off a midweek outcome that kept it just alive in the postseason race as well. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

@Memphis901FC (11-9-8, 41pts) moved into third place in the Central Division on Wednesday night as it rallied for a 2-1 victory against then-division leader Louisville City FC as goals by Michael Salazar and Mark Segbers earned the side its third win in the past four outings. Memphis now has a Magic Number of 5 to clinch its first playoff berth in its short history, and a win against Atlanta coupled with OKC Energy FC failing to take victory on Sunday evening against Birmingham Legion FC would be enough to send Head Coach Ben Pirmann’s side into the playoffs. 901 FC has gone 4-1-1 in its last six home games as a heavy schedule to close the season at AutoZone Park has played into its favor. After taking a 1-0 win on a goal by Skylar Thomas the last time the teams played in Memphis, the hosts will be hopeful of another winning performance this time around.

@atlutd2 (8-12-10, 34pts) ended Wednesday night thinking it had been eliminated from playoff contention by Sporting Kansas City II, but the use of an ineligible player by the hosts at Children’s Mercy Park kept Atlanta alive for at least one more game as it was awarded a 3-0 forfeit victory to move to 34 points with two games remaining. The side can’t catch Memphis at this point, but can still overtake FC Tulsa for fourth place should it win its final two games and Tulsa suffer an epic collapse of five consecutive defeats to conclude the regular season. Atlanta will be hoping it can end the season on a positive note regardless, with Aiden McFadden sitting on eight goals for the season and goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo sitting ninth in the league with 69 saves as they enter the penultimate game of the campaign.
