Fingertip stop by Battery shot-stopper against Rowdies topped poll conducted over past weekend

TAMPA, Fla. – The Charleston Battery’s Joe Kuzminsky has collected the USL Championship’s Fans’ Choice Save of the Month award for September as his spectacular stop against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Patriots Point last month finished first in the poll conducted over the past weekend.

A fan favorite in Charleston, Kuzminsky has claimed back-to-back Save of the Year awards in the Championship and put himself back in the running for this year’s award with a brilliant stop in his side’s contest on September 7. Facing a one-on-one opportunity for the Rowdies’ Juan Tejada, Kuzminsky made a one-handed save that parried the ball onto the crossbar before the rebound was sent over the crossbar.

Kuzminsky’s save earned 89 percent of the poll conducted at USLChampionship.com. Hartford Athletic’s Jeff Caldwell finished second on seven percent for his penalty kick save that denied the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Sebastian Guenzatti from the spot at Dillon Stadium.
