TACOMA, Wash. – The Tacoma Defiance play host to Orange County SC at Cheney Stadium on Saturday night with the Defiance in search of a victory to snap an extended losing streak and revive its postseason hopes against an Orange County side also in need of a bounce-back performance after a tough loss in its most recent outing. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.

@TacDefiance (8-12-6, 30pts) fell 1-0 to Austin Bold FC on Wednesday night and in the process lost control of its path to the USL Championship Playoffs. Still in seventh place in the standings with six games to go in the season, the Defiance have lost their last seven outings since a 2-1 win against Las Vegas Lights FC on September 2, and have scored only four goals in that span as the games in hand it held on its rivals for fourth place in the Pacific Division were squandered. Tacoma does still have a chance to make the postseason but is going to have to find a way to jump-start its attack to do so. That could arrive against Orange County, against which the Defiance are 2-0-1 this season including a 3-0 victory when the teams last met at Championship Soccer Stadium on August 18 on goals by as Jackson Ragen, Samuel Adeniran and Marlon Vargas each found the net. With a four-point gap to make up to Oakland Roots SC, though, the hosts will need a victory to avoid slipping further behind.

@OrangeCountySC (10-9-7, 37pts) is sitting much more comfortably in the playoff positions in the Pacific Division but is looking to rebound from a 1-0 defeat to Phoenix Rising FC at Championship Soccer Stadium last Saturday night that saw the hosts create numerous chances in the second half but be denied by a solid goalkeeping display by Phoenix’s Andre Rawls. Orange County has now alternated wins and losses in its last four games to sit six points behind San Diego Loyal SC for second place in the standings. The side has been led this season by Haitian forward Ronaldo Damus with 13 goals, while both Brian Iloski and Mikko Kuningas have recorded three goals and four assists apiece, and the visitors will be looking to earn a first win against the Defiance in 2021 to further boost their postseason aims.
