In the series premiere of Para Nosotros, Por Nosotros – the USL’s new video collaboration with Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand Kicks to the Pitch – host Denise Jones looks at the culture that has built up around New Mexico United since its launch in 2018.
Jones checks in with the man behind Señor Paleta, Misael Tinajero, whose ice cream store has become a must-visit on gamedays for United fans, and also get to know Adriana Cortina, who has become a major voice in local coverage of the team as one of the voices of New Mexico United’s local Spanish-language radio broadcasts on 106.3 La Zeta.
Finally, Jones catches up with New Mexico midfielder Isidro “Chelo” Martinez, who arrived at the club this past offseason having been born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley near the U.S.-Mexico border before beginning his professional career with fellow Championship club Rio Grande Valley FC.
