MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC can move into the playoff positions in the USL Championship’s Central Division on Wednesday night as it hosts Sporting Kansas City II at AutoZone Park looking to add to its current four-game undefeated streak that has the side well positioned for its first postseason berth. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

@Memphis901FC (9-8-8, 35pts) earned a 3-0 victory in its last outing as Laurent Kissiedou scored twice against FC Tulsa at ONEOK Field on Saturday night. 901 FC’s win wasn’t without some good fortune as the hosts missed an early penalty kick, but a standout display in goal by Cody Cropper – who posted an eight-save shutout – and two outstanding finishes by Kissiedou set the visitors up with a three-goal halftime lead they sustained through the second half. Memphis is now level on points with fourth-placed OKC Energy FC but has three games in hand and can start creating separation in the playoff race on Wednesday night. With a win, 901 FC would also move within a point of Tulsa for third place in the standings. Memphis has gone 1-1-1 so far this season against SKC II, with the side’s win coming on the road on August 1 when leading scorer Kyle Murphy and Belize international Michael Salazar each found the net in a 2-1 result.

@SportingKCII (4-15-8, 20pts) is winless in its last three games after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Birmingham Legion FC at Children’s Mercy Park on Friday night. The result put SKC II on the verge of mathematical elimination from the postseason with five games to go and a 15-point difference between itself and both OKC Energy FC and Memphis in the Central Standings. The side produced some bright moments against Legion FC, though, including a bright second appearance by 16-year-old Mataeo Bunbury, who forced a pair of good saves by Birmingham’s Matt VanOekel after coming on as a substitute. The younger brother of New England Revolution forward Teal Bunbury and son of former Canadian international Alex Bunbury could be one to watch as he vies for a first start in the professional ranks.
